Date Reviewed: 17 April 2010 | Like many other greats before it, T2 is so immensely engrossing, you never question it while you watch, only after you have soaked it all up. (Read Full Review)

Date Reviewed: 31 May 2009 | Terminator 2 leaves behind it a lasting legacy as both the cornerstone film in what is now a four-film series and as a benchmark Action picture that remains nearly as fresh and enticing as the day it was released to theaters. Though some films both before and after its release top it on the intensity of the action, the merit of the story, or the quality of the special effects, few capture the entire spectrum and excel across the board quite like Terminator 2. Oddly, the film's one negative is its massive proliferation, seemingly having reached a breaking point where overexposure and countless home video releases seem to have -- slightly -- lessened the film's magic. Unfortunately, this Blu-ray release features more of the same. Included is a decent video presentation that, while different in several areas from its predecessor, offers neither a substantial upgrade nor a sharp decline in quality; an excellent lossless soundtrack; and plenty of recycled extras making up the bulk of the bonus presentation. As to this "Complete Collector's Set," fans should be satisfied with the presentation. Though the DVD releases seem superfluous, they make for a nice bonus to the nuts-and-bolts of the collection, namely the Blu-ray disc, digital copy, and collectible statue. No doubt T2 will see yet another re-release somewhere down the road, but until then, serious fans should be placated by this impressive collectible release. Highly recommended. (Read Full Review)

Date Reviewed: 1 April 2008 | It has been nearly sixteen years since the theatrical release of ‘T-2’, yet the film still holds up well. In terms of overall movie quality, ‘T-2’ is, and will continue to be, a sci-fi classic, chock full of classic lines, car chases, explosions, and special effects. This Blu-ray DVD release has improved video but unfortunately offers nothing new from the previously released ‘Ultimate Edition’ standard DVD in terms of audio track options. More supplements together with a new uncompressed PCM or lossless audio track would have made for an even stronger release, but until such time as there is an ‘Ultimate Terminator 2 Blu-ray DVD’ release, this version receives my vote as the new ‘T-2’ reference standard disc. Date Reviewed: 17 December 2007 | Terminator 2 is a seminal work in the action genre. It upped the ante considerably for effects and action and few films since have managed to capture the magic of this film. It's an adrenaline pumping flick from beginning to end, one that builds on the story of the first film in a logical manner. Nothing is contrived here to make it work and the film also manages to stand on its own as a remarkable achievement technically, visually, and as a solid and engaging story. Much has been made about only including the theatrical version here. It had been a while since I watched this cut of the film, and even though the longer version works great, this version, which I have seen more times than any other film in my life, is the one that hooked me on the franchise. Technically, this disc is fine but there is room for improvement. The supplements are very good, but there is much more to be seen and it will be seen in subsequent editions. Eventually, a better edition will come out, and this rendition of the film is recommended for die hard fans only. (Read Full Review)

Date Reviewed: 20 July 2006 | I´ve had the opportunity to review and watch "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" many times over the years. This is a movie I greatly enjoy and never mind an opportunity to watch it again. This is now my favorite Blu-Ray release and even though the picture quality is slightly behind a couple of other Blu-Ray releases, this is a far superior film than the other two ("Ultraviolet" and "Underworld: Evolution"). The picture quality is a definite improvement over previous releases and the sound quality is on par with the high quality soundtracks of the former DVD releases. I would have liked to have heard a new Uncompressed PCM 5.1 mix, but the old DTS and Dolby Digital tracks are still very good. What was very nice to see was the two commentary tracks contained on this 137 minute long picture. This proves you can put a decent amount of data on a single-layer Blu-Ray disc and makes me again question "Ultraviolet" or "Basic Instinct 2" being inferior to their standard definition releases. This is currently one of the best titles currently available for Blu-Ray. (Read Full Review)

Date Reviewed: 27 June 2006 | 'T2' has been issued on home video so many times it has become a joke among even the film's biggest fans, which makes this Blu-ray release a dicey proposition. Yes, the picture is really quite good and it's a clear upgrade over the previous standard DVD editions. However, the soundtrack is nothing new and the extras are minimal. It is also hard to imagine Lionsgate isn't going to release this one again (and again and again) with more extras. So is a beautiful-looking 'T2' in high-def, sans extras, worth spending another $39.95 for? This time, I'm afraid, I'm going to have to leave that choice up to you. (Read Full Review)
